ATTORNEYS
Alan Wechsler’s practice focuses on all aspects of business litigation and complex commercial litigation in state courts, federal courts, and private arbitration. Alan has experience with a wide range of civil matters, including commercial contract disputes, complex business litigation, real estate disputes, construction dispute litigation, employment advice and employment discrimination litigation, business torts, unfair competition, trademark/trade dress infringement litigation, trade secret misappropriation, fraud, insurance coverage and bad faith, employee stock agreement and earn-out agreement disputes, landlord/tenant disputes, and judgment enforcement.
Representative examples of Alan’s experience include the following:

Represented the plaintiff in a trademark and trade dress infringement trial against a multi-billion dollar company that is the world's largest retailer in that product area. Obtained a jury verdict for the plaintiff on all claims, including actual and punitive damages, of more than $8.1 million. The jury verdict included a finding of willful infringement. In connection with a settlement shortly after the successful verdict, the plaintiff received $8.5 million from the defendant. The defendant also discontinued the sale of its products at issue in the case after the verdict.

Represented a major home developer in case tried to verdict regarding parties’ respective obligations under option and construction agreements arising out of the financing and development of residential housing development.

Obtained summary judgment for a bank in its action against a developer/borrower and guarantor relating to construction for a detached condominium project.

Represented a billion-dollar, industry-leading software company in the negotiation and successful resolution of federal court litigation involving an earn-out agreement.

Represented national provider of contract nursing and physician services in contract indemnity litigation with hospitals.

Successfully negotiated resolution of claim for breach of stock purchase agreement in connection with sale of a technology company.
ALAN R. WECHSLER, ESQ.
FOUNDER

Alan graduated in 1997 from the University of California, San Diego with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and minors in Biology and Chemistry. Alan received his law degree in 2000 from the University of California, Davis School of Law (King Hall), where he was a member of the U.C. Davis Law Review. Alan recently served for 6 years on the Board of Directors for the U.C. Davis School of Law Alumni Association. Alan is admitted to practice in the state courts of California, the state courts of Nevada, and the U.S. District Courts for Nevada, and for the Eastern, Northern, Central, and Southern Districts of California. While in law school, Alan was a judicial extern for the Honorable Gregory G. Hollows, U.S. Chief Magistrate Judge for the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of California. Alan is a member of the Tahoe Truckee Bar Association and the Washoe County Bar Association. Alan also is the Chair of the Board of Directors of Pet Network Humane Society, a pet shelter located in Incline Village, Nevada.
Alan is an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys all that the Lake Tahoe area has to offer, particularly hiking, camping, skiing, and stand-up paddleboarding. Alan and his wife have two children and an energetic border collie mix.
Decker's practice focuses on contract law, business law, civil litigation, sports & entertainment law, and intellectual property law, in both the Lake Tahoe and Reno areas. Decker offers unique strategies to protect the interests of the firm's clients, while implementing creative options and solutions for each legal matter.
Decker was born in Reno and raised in Northern California. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Nevada, Reno in 2014. While attending UNR, he was employed as student manager for the men’s basketball team and worked with the NBA D-League team formally known as the Reno Bighorns. After graduating UNR, he attended Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego, California, where he earned his Juris Doctorate and Sports Law & Policy Certificate in 2017.
During his time at law school, Decker gained invaluable experience working as a law clerk at a large civil litigation law firm, interning in the legal department at USA Football, and working at various sports agencies with a focus on contracts and negotiations. Decker also worked as a student-attorney in the Small Business Legal Clinic, where he earned the Honor’s High Grade as a result of his work in that clinic and his presentation to small business owners on business entity formation and compliance. He also earned Honors in his Professional Sports Law course and in his Counseling & Negotiating in the Sports Industry course.
Decker was featured in San Diego Lawyer for an article he authored regarding a professional athlete’s contractual issues resulting from the use of social media. He also competed in the National Sports Law Negotiation Competition and later drafted fact patterns for the same competition.
In addition to practicing law at the firm, Decker works as the founding agent of Acclivity Sports Representation, where he represents freeski athletes and the non-profit High Fives Foundation. He spends his free time enjoying outdoor activities with his friends, his family, and his yellow lab, Niner, or having fun with his wife Alyce and their young twins.
